NORTH SHORE CHEFS AND FARMERS CURATE FARM-TO-TABLE COLLABORATION FOR DISCOVER NORTH SHORE
HONOLULU, HI (October 18, 2013) – Another locavore installation of November’s highly anticipated Discover North Shore festival is a unique farm-to-table collaboration between local North Shore farmers and chefs. On Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Discover North Shore at Turtle Bay Resort will present the best fashion, food, music and art rooted in the North Shore of O‘ahu, also incorporating an open farmers’ market where distinctive and delicious dishes will be served.
Confirmed partnerships include Pupukea Gardens with Thomas Naylor from Ke Nui Kitchen, Small Kine Farm with Junior Ah You and Maka Mahuka from Tita’s Grill, Kolea Farm with John Armstrong from Kula Grille, Twin Bridge Farms with Pa’akai, Kahuku Farms with Kahuku Farms Café, Hawaiian Fresh Farms with their own chefs, and LaniLove Gluten Free Breads with their very own healthy delights.
Discover North Shore’s farmers’ market will not only offer these ready-to-eat creations, but will also purvey local produce and products straight from the various farms. Family and friends are encouraged to support these North Shore community members, as well as enjoy the difference in tasting fresh sustenance.
Turtle Bay Resort is the only destination resort on O‘ahu’s North Shore. Only 55 minutes away from Honolulu and Waikīkī, Turtle Bay Resort offers a two-night special package tying into Discover North Shore that also offers two complimentary tickets to the event and free entrance to the afterparty, $200 credit redeemable at new outlets such as North Shore Kula Grille, Pa‘akai, WaterShed, Oakley or Nalu Kinetic Spa and two free cocktails or pupu at North Shore Kula Grille and Pa‘akai.
Discover North Shore is part of a larger campaign of events known as “Discover Our Islands” that was launched to recognize and honor Hawai‘i’s unique culture. Neighborhoods across the state — including Kaka‘ako, Kualoa Ranch, Waikīkī and Maui — hold similar events throughout the year, recognizing the unique characteristics and features of each area.
