EXCLUSIVE LOCAL SHRIMP TRUCK AND FARM TOUR TO BE FEATURED AT DISCOVER NORTH SHORE

HONOLULU, HI (October 21, 2013) – Every trip up to the North Shore of O‘ahu demands an obligatory visit to at least one of the many shrimp trucks scattered across the lush region. But instead of stopping by just one truck, what if locals and visitors had the opportunity to taste a sampling of the many shrimp trucks all at once? On day two of Discover North Shore, a launching celebration of art, food, fashion and music from the locale, there will be a shrimp truck and farm tour offered for all guests. With transportation arriving and departing from Turtle Bay Resort, the tour will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The shrimp truck and farm tour will encompass a tasting from three different stops: Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck, Romy’s Kahuku Prawns & Shrimp, and Fumi’s Kahuku Shrimp. Participating guests will be shuttled in a luxe limo-bus and partake in exclusive tours at various trucks, including a look through Romy’s farm shrimp tank and a specialized guided farm tour of Kahuku Farms.

There will be two complete tour rotations: at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Each tour will last two hours and include a shrimp sample plate from each stop, a complimentary bottle of water, and a fresh fruit smoothie created from the fruits grown at Kahuku Farms. Free parking is available at Turtle Bay Resort’s self-parking lot. Guests are asked to check in 30 minutes prior to departure at Turtle Bay Resort’s Watershed Boutique. Tour tickets are available for $45 at amtickets.com.

Turtle Bay Resort is the only destination resort on O‘ahu’s North Shore. Only 55 minutes away from Honolulu and Waikīkī, Turtle Bay Resort offers a two-night special package tying into Discover North Shore that also offers two complimentary tickets to the event and free entrance to the afterparty, $200 credit redeemable at new outlets such as North Shore Kula Grille, Pa‘akai, WaterShed, Oakley or Nalu Kinetic Spa and two free cocktails or pupu at North Shore Kula Grille and Pa‘akai.

Discover North Shore is part of a larger campaign of events known as “Discover Our Islands” that was launched to recognize and honor Hawai‘i’s unique culture. Neighborhoods across the state — including Kaka‘ako, Kualoa Ranch, Waikīkī and Maui — hold similar events throughout the year, recognizing the unique characteristics and features of each area.
