DISCOVER NORTH SHORE AT TURTLE BAY RESORT PRESENTS FOOD, FASHION, MUSIC AND ART

HONOLULU, HI (September 3, 2013) –The North Shore of O‘ahu has long been fabled as a favorite getaway, a retreat far from bustling, busy Honolulu. Both locals and visitors alike know the North Shore—the area between Ka‘ena Point and Ka‘a‘a‘wa—as a land offering fantastic swells, remarkable farm-to-table cuisine, small boutiques, smooth-singing musicians and artists of all mediums. Now, there finally comes an event encompassing all of North Shore’s best in one: Discover North Shore on November 16, from 3:00 – 9:30 p.m at Turtle Bay Resort.

Families and friends can indulge in tasting the freshest foods, taken straight from the land and farms of the North Shore, prepared by exclusive, local chefs who have grown to embody the ever-essential, farm-to-table philosophy. Fashionistas will enjoy a premier fashion show highlighting North Shore apparel and peruse local vendor booths offering pieces made by hand, with natural products that exemplify the laid-back summer culture of the North Shore. Entertainment will be provided by North Shore-bred artists and engaging art exhibits will showcase the distinctive talents of local artists.

Chef Conrad of Turtle Bay Resort will present an extensive array of local farms, chefs, restaurants and vendors—the North Shore celebrities of food—to bring to life a truly unique farm-to-table presentation for all guests. This is a gastronome and foodie event you won’t find anywhere else in Hawai‘i!

The eventful day kicks off at 3:00 p.m. with festivities for everyone—family, friends, keiki and kupuna. Discover North Shore will host an elite afterparty from 10:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. at Surfer, The Bar.

Discover North Shore is part of a larger campaign of events known as “Discover Our Islands” that was launched to recognize and honor Hawai‘i’s unique culture. Neighborhoods across the state — including Kaka‘ako, Kualoa Ranch, Waikiki and Maui — hold similar events throughout the year, recognizing the unique characteristics and features of each area.

Turtle Bay Resort is the only resort destination on O‘ahu’s North Shore, honoring island culture and the beauty of the area. Only 55 minutes away from Honolulu and Waikiki, Turtle Bay Resort boasts an oceanfront setting that immerses guests in the excitement of the North Shore lifestyle. The resort offers a two-night special package tying into Discover North Shore that also offers two tickets to the event and free entrance to the afterparty, $200 credit redeemable at new outlets such as North Shore Kula Grille, Pa‘akai, WaterShed, Oakley or Nalu Kinetic Spa and two free cocktails or pupu at North Shore Kula Grille and Pa‘akai.
